Wilfrid Edward Francis Jackson (1883 - 1971) was a British nobleman and colonial governor.

Career[]

Wilfrid Jackson was the 23rd governor of Mauritus (1930-1937). When he assumed it was a great period for that nation, with a bolstered sector of sugar crane and some social improvements[1]; however, the local population started organizing politically and in response the British authorities disposed important means of repression. Disregarding, Wilfrid Jackson, who was knighted in 1931, often was absent from the country to attend professional issues.

Subsequently, Wilfrid Jackson was appointed governor of British Guiana (1937-1941), at which this British office had just been strengthened by a new constitution much for the local people's chagrin, and then of Tanganyika (1941-1945).
