Wigfried (also Wichfrid) (c. 900 - 953) was the Archbishop of Cologne from 925 - 953.

Early lifeEdit

The origins of Wigfried are not well known, although he was a member of the Matfrieding Dynasty.

Archbishop of CologneEdit

Wigfried was appointed the Archbishop of Cologne in 925. Throughout his rule, Wigfried donated generously to the abbacies of the Lower Rhine. Wigfried died on 9 July 953 and was buried in the Abbacy of St. Geron.
