Hildholf (? = 1079) was the Archbishop of Cologne from 1076 - 1079.

Early lifeEdit

Hildholf's origins are not recorded. However it is assumed he was not a member of the nobility. Hildholf became a chaplain of the Holy Roman Emperor Henry III.

Archbishop of CologneEdit

Hildholf was appointed by the Emperor as Archbishop of Cologne in 1076. Initially he resisted the appointment, but he later accepted it. Hildholf entered into conflicts with the citizens of Cologne, which had rebelled against his predecessor Anno II.
