Herman III (German: Hermann III) (c. 1055 - 1099) was the Archbishop of Cologne from 1089 - 1099 CE.

Early lifeEdit

Herman III was a son of Count Theodoric II of Cleves, and was the brother of Count Gebhard I of Hochstaden. He was made a Provost in Xanten in 1076 at the latest, and was a chancellor of the Holy Roman Empire from 1085.

Archbishop of CologneEdit

Herman III was appointed the Archbishop of Cologne in 1089 by the Emperor Henry III. He was made the Arch-Chancellor of Italy in 1190. He died on the 21 November 1089 and was buried in the Abbacy of Siegburg.
