Manuel II Palaiologos was born 27 June 1350 and died 21 July 1425, he was a Byzantine Emperor lasting from 1391 until his death in 1425. He was tonsured a monk before his death and was given the name Matthew. On July 21, the Eastern Orthodox commemorates him.
