John T. Sparks was a American politician born August 30, 1843 and died May 22, 1908. He was the tenth Governor of Nevada and was given the name Honest John and like his predecessor, Reinhold Sadler, Sparks was a cattleman and had a rise in political power which lead to decline of the mining industry and rise of the ranching industry in Nevada. John Sparks was the member of the \Silver - Democratic Party.
