Anthony of Schaumburg (German: Anton von Schaumburg) (? - 1558) was the Archbishop of Cologne from 1556 until 1558.

Early lifeEdit

Anthony was a son of Count Jobst I of Schaumburg and Holstein-Pinneberg and he was the younger brother of Adolph III of Schaumburg, the Archbishop of Cologne.

Archbishop of CologneEdit

Anthony was elected the Archbishop of Cologne on 26 October 1556 and was confirmed by Pope Paul IV on 6 October 1557. He spent his two-year reign trying to improve the dismal state of the finances of the Archdiocese.
